In writing my first non-fiction book, I have become aware of all of the different guards that appear when I am busy designing something. Guards, although they mean well, want to keep us safe and in my case, stifle my creativity. In the past 10 weeks, I have learned how to recognize these guards early on and through dialogue, transform them into guides that push me to new heights.
